Hey this really helps. I saw your lessons in guidetojapanese.org and I found it really helpful. Within at least 2-3 hours, I learned more than half of the hiragana and stuck it in my head. Thanks for the links and primer! I'm also looking for more sources. I'm confident I can learn all 2,000 kanji characters. LOL

I asked the owner of this site whether if there's anyway I can add audio to the site. Anyways, I think if you listen for and imitate fluctuation of the pitches, you should be fine.

i asked my japanese tutor today to explain it or give examples... or maybe ways to recognize it.

she said sometimes even japanese people get confused and have to ask for clarification when they mis-hear something. maybe it's not that easy.

especially for a beginniner, like me!

Hmmm... I used to own an accent dictionary like this one but I never used it so I wouldn't really recommend it.

Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to make audio (and this blog doesn't support it). It's really hard to explain without audio but I'll see if I can come up with something.

i'd really love to hear some more about high and low tones! maybe some ideas on how to hear them, how to recognize them?

maybe some examples? i know audio would help, but it's OK without audio maybe?
