Topic: difference between man and woman's way of speaking

The first is from a man and the second is from a woman.
今度一緒に食べに来い言うとったぞ。

今度一緒に食べにおいでって言うてたで。

1) I wonder if 来い is the command form来い/こい. It seems to be too strong when you are talking about eating together.

2)言うとった 言うてた what is that thing that comes after 言う?

3)Is the で a sort of a gobi for female? I heard that the te form of a verb can also serve as a female kind of gobi.

言うとった　＝　ゆうとった　→　言っておった　＝　言っていた　(is there nothing between 来い and 言う? Not even a pause?)
言うてた　＝　ゆうてた　＝　言っていた

This happens in "standard" Japanese as well with 問う and 請う：　問うた　請うた

I'm not sure what this で means, but if I had to guess I'd say something like （の）よ.

This sounds like bad kansai-ben

で＝ぜ

言うとった・言うてた＝関西弁　forms for what Faumdano has already said.

I really can't imagine people talking in this kind of hyoujungo-kansai hash, plus a woman would rarely say で. She would probably use the neutral (in kansai anyway) わ

There is no pause at all, not even when the speaker speaks it.

I don't think it matters, I've heard the quotation particle dropped colloquially before.

It doesn't stike me as that unusual at all. Those are some big generalizations if you haven't actually been to the Kansai region (which covers a very large area and incorporates many dialects variations - there isn't really one "Kansai-dialect"..it's a whole bunch of dialects with some shared features)

Now, having said that: In Kansai-ben で is basically equivalent to よ and is used by both sexes big_smile
