Topic: 開ける as an intransitive verb in expressing a lack of change

In the section about Expressing a lack of change the last example sentence is

窓が開けっ放しだったので、蚊がいっぱい入った.

But I thought that in the basic grammar section about transitive and intransitive verbs 「開ける」 was mentioned as a transitive verb and shouldn't it therefore be 「窓を開けっ放し...」?

Re: 開ける as an intransitive verb in expressing a lack of change

開けっ放し is no longer a verb.

Re: 開ける as an intransitive verb in expressing a lack of change

Maybe you should regard the phrase as 'passive voice' as in (誰々によって)窓開けっ放し(にされた状態)だったので, then it is a transative verb.

And then again, if you consider it as an active voice phrase, you can use '' as in (誰々が)窓開けっ放し(にした状態)だったので as you mentioned.
