You didn't break your rib from training did you? Doesn't sound like a lot of time to heal... be careful.

Also since the former Korean president committed suicide the broadcast of the show was delayed, so anyone interested in trying to watch it online has to wait until June 7, Korean time.

I broke a rib in an exhibition bout against a team mate who's got really, really, ridiculously good knees.
Honestly, I don't think anybody at my competition will even be on his level.
I'm one of only a couple people he hasn't stopped with knees this year - broke my rib, but I kept fighting for another round to finish the bout.

I am a little worried about the rest time.
Every other time I've hurt my ribs, it's healed in 6 weeks.
Just finishing week 7 now and I know I'm still not 100%.
Worst case scenario, I'll just work around it for the first few weeks - starting back next week.

Decided i'm not gonna fight in July this past weekend.

They published the rules, which are a change from what they had said earlier, so I was going to have to buy a significant amount of new equipment. It was really the straw that broke the camel's back. With my rib (plus other injuries) and the baby, I just couldn't get into the groove of my training physically or emotionally. Too busted up & burnt out.

The good news is that I should start studying Japanese again shortly; my other schedule didn't leave me a whole lot or energy for any other hobbies.

My birthday's this week, so I know I'm getting up there in age & don't have a lot of time left to be fighting, but I'm sure there will be other opportunities; when I'm in a better position to handle the requirements of training.

we actually got yelled at by my mother in law for pic #3; the angle in that pic's deceptive - he looks like he's in danger of tipping over or hurting his neck, but actually he was wedged snugly between the cushions & wasn't going anywhere.

for me, when they start smiling, it makes all the sleepless nights worth it.
hope the karate test went well.
in the process of shopping around for another martial art - turns out that kicking & the muay thai stance are the reason i'm having a lot of hip issues; so looking for a change of pace.
