Verb tenses and clauses

At the end of the last chapter, we learned about the concept of the verb clause. In this chapter, we will learn more ways to utilize the verb clause along with the progressive and past tense.

How do you say...I'd like

How do you say...I'd like milk instead of water in my tea?? I can't locate a grammar guide to "instead of" sentences.


It seems that かわりに can be

It seems that かわりに can be used
代わりに かわりに instead of; for; as; in exchange for; in return (for); to make up for

Exemples
私はジャムの代わりに蜂蜜を使います。 I substitute honey for jam.

牛乳の代わりにワインはいかがですか。 Will you drink wine instead of milk?

今朝はコーヒーの代わりに紅茶を飲んだ。 I had tea instead of coffee this morning.

石油の代りにアルコールを使うべきだ。 We should substitute alcohol for oil.

犬の代わりに猫を飼いたい。 I want to keep a cat instead of a dog.


I guess it would just be

I guess it would just be (somebody please let me know if there's a better way to say this):

お茶はお湯のお代わりに牛乳を使って下さい。(おちゃはおゆのおかわりにぎゅうにゅうをつかってください。)

About the tea, please use milk as a substitute for hot water.
