生きてみてください

Question: Is 生きてみてください a request to live a certain way, or just a "please try to live"?
生きてみる might be translated as "Live!"
Otherwise, it would rather be, "try living ..." and not "try to live..." (which would be 「生きてみようとして」).
The Japanese "-みる" does sometimes mean "to try something out", but it is just as often used to make the tone of an assertion or suggestion less emphatic. In those cases it might be best to completely ignore it if you are looking for a good English translation.
