I looked online to no avail. Here are the differences that I came up with. However, I have no idea if they&#8217;re correct and I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m missing a whole bunch of other usages.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u5728 can be used to indicate location, \u7740 can&#8217;t.<br \/>Ex: \u6211\u4f4f\u5728\u7f8e\u56fd\u3002<\/li>\n<li>\u5728 is used for a continuous action.<br \/>Ex: \u4ed6\u5728\u6253\u7535\u8bdd\u3002<\/li>\n<li>\u7740 is used for a one-time action that changes a state and remains in that state.<br \/>Ex: \u5979\u624b\u91cc\u62ff\u7740\u4e00\u672c\u4e66\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The best I can figure out is that \u7740 is not actually an action but a description of a state resulting from the action, which explains why it comes <em>after<\/em> the verb. For instance, \u4e0b\u7740\u96e8 describes the condition as being rainy. This explains why dict.cn translates it as <a href=\"http:\/\/dict.cn\/%E4%B8%8B%E7%9D%80%E9%9B%A8.htm\">&#8220;rainily&#8221;<\/a> which I don&#8217;t think is even a word. On the other hand, \u5728\u4e0b\u96e8 is the continuous action of rain falling. That&#8217;s why you can have what at first seems to be a crazy duplication such as \u96e8\u8fd8\u5728\u4e0b\u7740. It makes sense when you consider that it&#8217;s a continuous action of the &#8220;rainily&#8221; condition.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, no wonder I hate Chinese grammar. Next, I&#8217;ll try to figure out the difference between \u4e00\u70b9 and \u4e00\u4e9b.
