You can download the Hiragana practice writing sheet here:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/japanese-lesson.com\/characters\/hiragana\/hiragana_writing.html\">http:\/\/japanese-lesson.com\/characters\/hiragana\/hiragana_writing.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are the example words from the lesson with some additions for extra reading practice.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u3042\u3044 &#8211; love<\/li>\n<li>\u3042\u304a &#8211; blue<\/li>\n<li>\u3044\u3048 &#8211; house<\/li>\n<li>\u3046\u3048 &#8211; above<\/li>\n<li>\u304a\u3044 &#8211; nephew<\/li>\n<li>\u304a\u3046 &#8211; to chase<\/li>\n<li>\u3042\u3046 &#8211; to meet<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a odd tidbit. Did you know what we call &#8220;green&#8221; for a green traffic light is called \u300c\u3042\u304a\u300d in Japan? Actually, it IS kind of blue in Japan depending on how you look at it so it&#8217;s not that strange.<\/p>\n<p>The sound \u300c\u304a\u3046\u300d is also an interjection used to express an &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/%E3%81%8A%E3%81%86\">informal affirmative response<\/a>&#8220;. So next time somebody says, &#8220;Let&#8217;s do it!&#8221; You can respond \u300c\u304a\u3046\uff01\u300d instead of &#8220;yeah!&#8221;. Practicing interjections in Japanese is a great way to start sounding and maybe even feeling a bit more Japanese.<\/p>\n<p>Hungry for more?
