So if you’ve been learning Japanese for any decent length of time you’ve probably seen this word: \u5fd9\u3057\u3044. I thought I had completely memorized that word 9 years ago. Somehow, I never noticed that word actually had two readings. So imagine my shock when I looked up the word \u305b\u308f\u3057\u306a\u3044. The dictionary states that it’s an emphasized version of another word: \u305b\u308f\u3057\u3044. Guess what that word looks like when written in Kanji. Needless to say, that word is usually written in Hiragana. Wow, it’s a really good reminder that learning a language is a never ending process. And that while I love Kanji, yes it does sometimes suck.<\/p>\n
Other words I learned recently: \u3044\u3061\u3083\u3082\u3093\u3001\u6297\u751f\u7269\u8cea\u3001\u653e\u5c04\u7dda. The last obviously being a word on the minds of everyone in Japan.
